In 1989, we visited Nevedith Kennels in the UK for the first time and, that afternoon, NEVEDITH ZIPPY ZOPPY (imp UK) began packing his bags to travel to Australia. Born in 1987, and sired by Eng Ch Maximilian of Carmodian x Nevedith Victory Salute, his dam was a repeat sister of the famous “Paper” litter.

In 1997, David and Lesley Hiltz brought two American Whippets to Australia and the lines they carried were just what we had been waiting for. First we used AUST (and later AM) CH STARBAY ARMANII (iid), who was by the great Am Ch Sporting Fields Kinsman from Aust Ch Bo-Bett’s Fair Warning (imp USA). This litter produced Renee Wilson’s Ch Calahorra Elle, dam of Ch Calahorra Magic Moment and near champions Calahorra Magic Dragon and the Potts’ Calahorra Mystical Magic.

Then we used AUST (and later AM) CH SPORTING FIELDS IRISH DERBY (imp USA). We mated him to Ch Calahorra Toffee Apple twice. Her first litter produced the “Irish lot”, three signifacnt producing bitches including our own Irish Eyes, grand-dam of our greatly missed CH CALAHORRA SPICED WINE, Jan O’Donnell’s Irish Cream and Leanne Coffey’s Irish Laughter.

We used him on Calahorra Madam Butterfly to produce a very promising young male, Calahorra Treacle Toffee, who in turn is producing brilliantly for us.
